FINALLY—MY PRESET!

Writer: Michelle ContrerasMichelle Contreras

Hey guys!

It's been a while since I've hyped this up on my Instagram! I was going to upload sooner but life got in the way and I had absolutely no time to take the time to write a blog post, and for that, I sincerely apologize.

But, we're here. And I'm finally listing this preset up for sale.

The pricing is $6—$3 for me, and $3 for a charity or non-profit of your choice!

Just make sure to leave a note for me letting me know where you'd like me to send the $3 off to and I'll attach a screenshot as proof of donation.

Check below for some before and afters:

Like what you see? YAY! I've spent so much time trying to perfect my preset in order to create a clean feed on my Instagram. While I admit it's not the neatest it's ever been currently, keeping one specific filter for all of my posts help make my page look a whole lot neater.

This is the first preset of many that I plan to release, all with the same price point and motive.

Wanna buy? Just Cash app or Venmo me $6 with your note stating where you'd like half the profits to be sent to, send a screenshot to me as proof through any social media platform of your choice (I'm @MichiContreras across all channels) and I'll immediately send you over the download link!

Cash App: $MichiContreras

Venmo: @MichiContreras

Sorry for making it so complicated. I've been in a super tight budget and haven't been able to open a shop portion to my site just yet.

Here are the directions to download:

REMINDER: You must have the Lightroom app downloaded on your phone.

For your phone:

  1. Once downloaded, you will need to save the preset files either onto your camera roll or into your favorite cloud storage option so you can access them on your mobile phone. I've used Dropbox, Google Drive, and the generic Files app. Any work! You just have to be able to allow access to those files on your phone through that same cloud storage app, so make sure to have any one of those apps downloaded.

  2. Open your Lightroom app.

  3. To add a preset, click on the (...) Settings option in the top-right corner of the app.

  4. Choose the Add Photos option.

  5. On the next screen, choose the location you will be pulling your DNG file from. If you have it saved to your phone, choose "From Camera Roll." If you have saved it to a cloud storage option, choose "From Files."

  6. Select the DNG file you would like to import. This step may be a little different depending on your mobile phone, however most phones offer a way to select multiple files/images.

  7. Click on the newly imported file, then click on the three dots inside a circle in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. From there, choose “Create Preset” from the menu that appears.

  8. Give your preset a name! You can stick to 'MICHI' or make it your own.

  9. Select an image in the app that you would like to edit. Swipe left on the bottom options until you see "Presets" and tap on that option.

  10. It will open with your most recently used presets. By tapping on the presets, it'll automatically apply the filter! You can copy and paste the settings onto your photos quickly and easily after that.

For your desktop:

  1. Open Lightroom.

  2. From the menu bar, choose File > Import Profiles & Presets.

  3. In the Import dialog that appears, browse to the required path and select the preset that you want to import. This should be the XMP file.

  4. Click Import.

  5. You can now use this preset on any of your photos!

Little disclaimer: As with any preset, sometimes it will take some fiddling around to make it work for your photo. This is due to the nature of which you took your photo in. It might have already been so bright out that when you put the preset on, it blowed you out, but no worries, it's normal! Just lower the exposure, play around with the temperature control and you'll have your picture perfect in no time.

I really hope you guys enjoy using my preset and find it easier to edit those beautiful Instagram photos of yours. I cannot wait to see your posts! Feel free to use the hashtag #MichiPreset

Alright, y'all. Thank you for your endless support.

You're amazing.
