Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment have done it again!
The wonderful journey of the Minions begins at the dawn of time. The film commences with the Minions evolving through the ages, being the helpers of the most evil of creatures and geniuses. The Minions face depression after having consecutive failures with their previous ‘masters,’ some who include a colossal T-Rex, abominable snowmen, and even Napoleon. But there is one Minion who didn’t give up just yet—Kevin. Kevin proposes to venture out into the world with two confused volunteers, Stuart and Bob, and find a new master once and for all to save the Minion tribe.
The adorable trio undertake an exhilarating expedition to Orlando where they get to meet their new master, Scarlet Overkill (voiced by Sandra Bullock), the world’s first-ever female super-villain. Overkill, alongside her genius inventor husband Herb (voiced by Jon Hamm), devises an evil plan to steal Queen Elizabeth’s crown and take over all of England. The Minions then must face their biggest test thus far: saving all of Minionkind from extinction.
Throughout the movie, you’re following the Minions along their journey from the bleak, depressing Antarctica, to 1960s New York City and, finally, the ever-stylish London and I promise you it is an unforgettable experience.
I enjoyed every minute of this movie! When I wasn’t laughing, I had a smile on my face. Families will eat it up, no doubt! The Minions are just so darn cute and hilarious it’s almost impossible to not fall in love with them. One of the many things I loved from the film was the soundtrack–since it took place in the 60s, they played The Beatles, The Who, and even Jimi Hendrix! This was a huge bonus to an already awesome film.
‘Minions’ is rated PG for its rude humor and crazy action. I rate this film five out of five stars and recommend it for ages 5 and up.
